With approval of Rs. 90 lakh by DM Vineet Kumar from untied funds, there is a ray of hope in Trout Village of being self-employed.
Vineet Kumar, the District Magistrate has approved an impressive sum of Rs. 90 lakh for Trout Village in Jagthana from Untied Fund. This will largely promote the farming of trout fish in the village. With this, the income and future of 66 people belonging to six committees is also expected to improve. The plan is to construct 60 raceways and to target a production of 80 quintals of fish.
Jagthana is not the only trout village getting involved in farming of trout fish. The District Magistrate has included another village in the list of Trout Fish Villages- Smuti. In Smuti as well, the government intends to build 60 raceways. At present, the trout fish production does not exceed 20 quintals. So, the target of 80 quintals is a challenging one but the prosperity of Jagthana and Smuti depends on the project.
On Monday, 27th June, 2022, Vineet Kumar put trout seeds in 28 fresh raceways in the village of Jagthana. He is hopeful that there is great scope for fish farming in the area. The demand for trout fish farming is high not just in Uttarakhand but also is several other Indian states.
People living in rural areas are receiving encouragement from the government to take up farming of fish. DM Vineet Kumar motivates people to take community farming seriously. In order to offer proper market to all fish farmers, he has given directions to set up multiple sale points across the district. The DM has also made provisions for deep freezers and purchase of refrigerated vans. In the Chaupal arranged by the village residents, he motivated the audience on moving towards self-employing.
